How we handle corrections, clarifications, and updates.
Accuracy is central to our editorial mission. We take errors seriously and are committed to correcting them promptly and transparently. When we get something wrong, we own it, fix it, and make sure our readers know what changed and why.
We use three terms to describe changes to published content:
Correction: A factual error in the original article has been fixed. This includes wrong numbers, incorrect names, misattributed quotes, or other verifiable inaccuracies.
Clarification: The original content was not factually wrong but was unclear or could be misinterpreted. Additional context or rewording has been added to improve clarity.
Update: New information has emerged since publication. The article has been updated to reflect current developments. Updates do not indicate an error in the original reporting.
